Going trick-or-treat on Halloween night is full of fun. Do a safety check in advance so you can head out with peace of mind. This checklist is divided into three parts: before going out, on the way, and after getting home

🎒 Before You Go
Costume hems should not drag on the ground to prevent tripping. Put reflective stickers on clothes and backpacks to improve visibility at night. Masks can block vision, so face painting is a better choice
Give kids a lightweight flashlight. Plan a familiar route in advance and agree on a meeting point and a time to head home. Tell kids to never enter a stranger's house alone

🚶 On the Way
Have an adult accompany kids the whole time, and young kids should not go alone. Cross the street at crosswalks and don't chase or roughhouse. Watch for vehicles on the road, as visibility is poor after dark
Only go to houses with lights on, and stay out of dim, secluded yards. Don't taste the candy you collect; bring it all home to check

🍬 Candy Check at Home
Pour out all the candy and check each wrapper. Throw away snacks that are damaged, opened, or have unclear packaging. Small hard candies and round ball-shaped candies are not recommended for young children to prevent choking
Ask about candy allergens. Kids with a history of allergies should strictly avoid nuts and dairy products. Put the candy away and keep pets away from it

✅ Extra Tips
Make an agreement with kids in advance to find a parent right away if anything feels uncomfortable or strange. Keep your phone fully charged

The joy of trick-or-treat is built on safety. Go through the checklist item by item so kids can have a happy and safe Halloween night
